What I Actually Do in a Intuitive Reading (And What I Don't)

I didn't plan to become a reader. I didn't study it first, decide it was my path, and then hang out a sign on the door. It started much earlier than that. As a kid, I would just see things. And say them. And occasionally get in trouble because some of what I saw wasn't mine to know.
I also receive things in dreams, and I still do.
Just recently, a friend from high school came to me in a dream and hugged me. We were in a big room, celebrating something. She gave the most loving hug…I woke up just sitting with it, wondering what that was about. Twenty-four hours later, after two decades of not speaking (just the natural drift of life) she messaged me on Facebook to invite me to our 25-year high school reunion in July. Oh. That's it. I honestly might have said no if that dream hadn't already let me feel what the experience would hold.
That's how this works for me. Not always that clear, not always that fast. But that's the shape of it.
The cards were never really the point
At twenty, I started studying tarot and traditional readings with playing cards, an Eastern European tradition. I got good at it. But if I'm being honest, I never really needed the cards.
I used them because people expected them. Without the cards, some folks wonder if it's even a reading…like the tarot is the one doing the talking. But for me, the cards were always the performance. What I'm actually reading is your energy field.
What happens when you sit down with me
Most people come with questions, and I like that. But there's often something else moving in your field that wants to be seen. Something that has nothing to do with what you asked, and everything to do with it at the same time.
Someone comes to me about a job. The answer I'm seeing is about their health. Because if your body is screaming and stress is running the show, how are you going to step into that new role even if it comes? So I say what I see: yes, if you find ways to bring your stress down, the probability of you stepping into that opportunity is high. That's the honest answer. That's what's actually there.
I'm not always able to give you the yes or no you came for. Sometimes the answer genuinely isn't clear. Because it depends on choices you haven't made yet. I won't invent certainty I don't have.
When it doesn't land
There have been plenty of readings over the years where nothing I said resonated. The person left thinking I'd read someone else entirely. And here's the thing…I usually know when that's happening. I can feel it in their field. But I've been doing this long enough to trust it anyway.
And then, months later, sometimes years later, I get the email: "I thought you were completely off. But everything you said came true."
I genuinely love those notes.
What I won't do
I won't tell you I can see everything. If you find a reader who says they can, I'd run. Some things are meant to stay unknown. That's not a failure of the reading. That's the actual design of being alive. Most wisdom traditions have a name for it: the great mystery. We live in constant change, constant unknowing. Learning to get comfortable in that is its own kind of practice.
It's honestly why I love the word mystic.
If you're curious
If something in this landed for you, or if you've been sitting with a question and not quite sure what to do with it…that's usually enough of a reason to book.
I offer intuitive readings online. You don't need to prepare anything. Just show up and I'll read what's there. :) - Natalie
If this felt like a conversation you wanted to stay in...
There are conversations happening in Mystic Marrow (in Patreon) that won't make it here. Not because they're secret, well maybe a little — because they need a sacred container. If what you read today stirred something in you, that's where we keep going.
